About the Work of Triad Restorative Justice (TRJ):
Our schools are handling fights and other challenging student disruptions on a daily basis, but traditional exclusionary responses like suspensions, expulsions and arrests make things worse, not better for the youth
Research shows that exclusionary responses isolate youth from important support systems, and make it more likely they will continue with disruptive behaviors and more likely to drop out of school.
TRJ provides restorative responses to disruptive youth behaviors that promote real behavior change and strengthen youths’ connections to their schools, families, and other support systems
We have served over 300 youth in Forsyth County since 2019 with restorative justice, anger management and youth development programs.
We also partner with schools and law enforcement to advocate for systemic changes to promote equitable and safe schools for all our youth.
